The Committee on Industrial and Labor Relations was formed by Joint Resolution of the New York Legislature on 18 March 1938. Under the chairmanship of Assembly Majority Leader Irving W. Ives, it conducted investigations of and proposed legislation concerning the arbitration of labor disputes, unemployment compensation, the self-regulation of industry, the moving of industry into and out of the State, and profit-sharing as an incentive to better labor relations.
